6 Cakes That Are Too Good To Eat

Deepali’s cakes are the most sought after creations in Bangalore

Let’s just say, I ‘louuve’ shining the spotlight on small local businesses. And especially when they ‘look’  this good…oh well.
Drum roll for Deepali of Paaliz Cake Art Creations please. This native of Jabalpur has always been interested in baking and in cake art from her childhood. She can’t be blamed — she grew up with a mum who used to dish out elaborate 3D cakes.  After marriage (“to a Bangalorean”) Deepali moved to the US – and was introduced to the world of “designer cakes”.  And over there, she also got addicted to Cake Boss and Ace of Cakes — popular shows on the telly. And she ended up adding more tips and tricks to her cake-art bag.
In 2009, she baked a Disney mermaid-themed cake for her daughter’s third birthday. Her daughter loved it. Daughter’s friends devoured it. And their mothers anointed Deepali the ‘official baker’ of birthday cakes. That was the beginning of Deepali’s  “sweet entrepreneurial’ journey” called Paaliz Cake Art.
Even after she returned to Bangalore in 2012, Deepali continued with her art. Today, she is the most sought after ‘cake-artist’ in the city. She takes great pride in her work. Her cakes are made from scratch and she insists that  she does not use “ready-made fondant, cake gels, preservatives or other chemical soups”.
The ‘icing-on-the cake’ for her is when her clients say: “OMG! The cake tastes even better than it looks!”
