Mama’s Kitchen – How To Make Apple Bajjis


  • Apple 1
  • Gram flour 1 cup
  • Chilli powder 1 tsp (add more if you prefer a spicier snack)
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • Garlic 4 pods
  • Curry leaves 3
  • Baking soda 1/4 tsp
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp (optional)


Cut a firm (and not too sweet) apple into thin slices. Grind ginger, garlic, and curry leaves into a paste. Mix the paste and other ingredients with the gram flour. Make sure there are no lumps. The batter should be slightly thick. Dip the apple slices in the batter and deep fry till golden brown on both sides. Tastes yummy if eaten hot.
