Surreal bakeries and cheese and cracker shops for rodents (yes, you read right) are popping up in the Swedish town of Malmo.
These miniature (almost bite-sized eateries) are the creations of a group of anonymous artists who are; it seems patron saints of rodents.
“It’s just too darn charming to imagine a world where mice lives parallel to ours but just slightly out of sight,” said one representative of the artist group Anonymouse MMX, in an email interview with HuffPost
The shops-for-mice are built using ordinary things like caps, lids from tin cans, matches, buttons, a lamp shade, Italian stamps, etc. Things that the mice themselves would’ve used if they were architects, entrepreneurs and bakers.
The group has announced to its 14.7k Instagram (@anonymouse_mmx) followers that will be creating more such “scenes” in 2017.
I don’t know whether the rodents have begun visiting the shops for real nuts, cheese and crackers but their human friends are excited enough to bake miniature buns and leave them in the bakeries for their friendly neighbourhood mice. Oh well, life sure is interesting in some corners if this earth.
